Kickstart Week Day 1

May 14, 2018 | 8:30am to 4:00pm

Course Design, Quality, and Learning Objectives

Kickstart Week is a series of related workshops that will prepare you to design for and teach in online and hybrid settings.

Day One of Kickstart Week will focus on designing your course to best take advantage of online affordances while avoiding pitfalls. The process begins by articulating clear, measurable learning goals and objectives, which the session facilitators will help you do through interactive workshopping. ODEE's Course Quality Coordinator will describe the leading national initiatives for assessing online course quality and demonstrate how you can leverage their rubrics to gauge the effectiveness of your own and peers' courses.

Following each segment, you will have the opportunity to practice what you learned with guidance from experts. By the end of the day, you will have drafted and received feedback on core elements of your online course design.

Attendees are encouraged to register for and attend all four days.
