Amy Lea Clemons (she/her) is a communications specialist with more than twenty years of teaching experience at the secondary and post-secondary levels. Amy Lea joined the Drake Institute after nearly a decade’s experience training her fellow faculty members to teach with technology, create accessible courses and materials, and redesign classes for different modalities.

Amy Lea holds a BA in Young Adult/Adolescent Integrated Language Arts Education from Bluffton University (OH), an MA in Rhetoric and Writing from Northeastern University in Boston, and a PhD in Theory and Cultural Studies from Purdue. Her scholarly work in rhetoric, disability, and dystopian studies through the writings of Kenneth Burke emphasizes the ways humans are persuaded to cooperate with each other to build a better world.

That desire to collaborate toward a brighter future motivates Amy Lea’s work with faculty, instructors, and staff. When not trying to save the world through better teaching, she geeks out over new tech, theoretical physics documentaries, fanfiction, and anime.
