Chelsea holds a three-part appointment with the GE Bookends Program at Ohio State: Lecturer, Student Success Coordinator, and Team Lead. As a Lecturer, she teaches GE 1201 – Launch Seminar, a course that all new Ohio State students take within the first three semesters at the University. Launch Seminar is designed to introduce students to the General Education curriculum at Ohio State and introduces key academic skills. Chelsea is also a Student Success Coordinator within the Bookends program. In this role, she interfaces with student support offices across campus to distribute information and resources to the Bookends instructional team, and she plans and develops programmatic supports to increase student success in GE Bookends courses. Chelsea’s role as Team Lead involves collaborating with a team of 5-7 instructors by serving as a first contact for questions or concerns. The Bookends program will connect with all of OSU’s incoming undergraduate students moving forward, and it makes good sense to connect a team of such size and scope to the Drake Institute for Teaching and Learning. Chelsea is honored to help facilitate connections among faculty and other units with the work and people of the Bookend’s team.

Previously, Chelsea held staff positions in the Fisher College of Business as an Academic Advisor, and in The College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences as a Career Development Coordinator. In these roles, she liaised with faculty and staff to build infrastructure within programs that continue to support programmatic goals, retain students, and bolster success beyond graduation. She is a strong advocate for compassionate teaching and advising; she has pursued trainings and served on committees to increase her knowledge and skills around supporting students in meaningful ways.
